Engine House

Engine House
Holmes Street, Mystic, CT

A locally sourced restuarant featuring ingredients grown in the area.

I been there twice so far, both times was excellent. A choice of 16 draft beers on hand and you have to look at the beer menu because the list changes very often. You can usually tell of the quality of a restuarant if they have a beer menu!

I had the Fire Burger, cooked medium rare. The burger was nicely seasoned and cooked to my expectation, Covered with pickled onions and Habernero Cheese, this burger was woofed down very quick! The bun was a multigrain roll. The hamburger came with house cut fries and house made dill pickle. $13.00

I also had the Caramel Popcorn with Bacon Fat. This is a very addictive appetizer. The sweetness of the caramel then the chewy bacon pieces, WOW! $5.00

And finally the Deviled Farm Eggs $3.00

Well Worth the Visit

Tio Rodrogos Mexican Grill

Tio Rodrigos Mexican Grill
419 Bank Street
New London, CT 06320

Went to Tio's recently for Happy Hour. At Happy Hour they have $1.00 Tacos, limit of 4 per serving, and $2.00 Corona and Coors Light. Each entree is served with nice tasting tortillas and salsa. There is also a Habernero Salsa which is very good. Also on the menu are grilled habernero peppers as well as the usual Mexican fare. All though as of this writing the menu is small, it will grow once business picks up. There is also an outdoor patio with a big screen tv to watch your favourite baseball game!
